Applying templates

Hi,

First of all, I am not sure if this is the correct place to get clarification. But here it is...

In the chapter 7 Templates (https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...nfig/templates), it is mentioned that templates are assigned to each individual host directly and not to a host group. My question is, will this change in the future?

I am managing a large environment, where it would be more efficient to have templates linked to host groups and the host will receive the template(s) from the host group. Therefore, moving host from one host group or adding to another host group, will then be a more easier task.

Hello,

Host groups are used for the permissions management and filtering of both templates and hosts.
In the host configuration you may use filtering based on the Host Groups and apply templates with "Mass Update" option.
