I've just installed the latest version of Zabbix in a new job.
A couple of years ago, at a previous job, I was using an earlier version and I remember that when you created a host you didn't link it to a template you just copied in the items you wanted from the template.
I now find that in the latest version this function has been dropped. Definately a backward step as it makes configuration so much harder. You either have a lot of work to do to create the items you want or you have to put up with a lot of useless clutter.
Please can we have this function back.
