Rebuilding item history within dependent items

    Dear all,

i'd like to suggest a feature, that might be handy sometimes.
What might be useful is to have an option to let Zabbix asynchronously recreate historical data for dependent items.

    Use case:
You have an item that acts like a data storage of some json string (or other) and have create some dependent items.
If you'd like to add more dependent items in future on values inside the json string, that are already present in the main item history data, you currently only have historical data from from dependent item creation ongoing.

Are there more people, that are interested in this?

    Thanks

Yea! I'm interested. I wonder why this doesn't exist yet!

Many people won't keep the master data, just extract needed things from main item and not store whole set to save DB space.

Well, practically any feature one might add will be useful to some but not all users, right? I would guess this would be a relatively popular one.

We tend to keep most of the master data for several years. The ability to calculate historical data for a dependent item that we newly decided to be interesting is the main thing I'm missing in Zabbix.
