    Zabbix 3.0 Status?

    I found this link:

Join the friendly and open Zabbix community on our forums and social media platforms.

Which mentions the availability of Zabbix 3.0 in Jul / Aug / Sept. (Beta 1)

Is that still on track? I know the date has slipped at least once before (and that's fine) but I just want to see where development is at now. I have a large rollout coming soon and would like to deploy zabbix 3.0 for it if possible.

3.0 release schedule status is "Expected: September, 2015 (?)".

Please see this slide page 42.

Release times published on the roadmap are rather assumptions to the best of knowledge.
The more relevant part is: "First beta will be released when it's feature complete".
So, take a look at the still open tickets and its blocking points to get a rough idea how long it might take.

well i hope they will also change the "end of support" date, because zabbix life cycle webpage still says may 2018. let's hope we will have 3.0 at least a few months before that
first, zabbix 2.6 was cancelled and now 3.0 is just postponing, does not sound very good to me.

Good point! I think to have mentioned it at least two times on IRC.

No worries, the end of support date will be extended accordingly as soon as we have 3.0 released.

We're releasing last (?) alpha this week. We're very close to the first beta release.

                      ping?

where should we be looking to see the problems that are holding things up?

note that the first beta is out - this means that there will be no new features implemented anymore, only polishing and bugfixing.

this is a good time to test the first beta, report any issues found, re-test the old bugs and see whether they are gone or multiplied
