Map usability would be greatly improved if Zabbix could accommodate line segments. This can currently be done using a small image and making multiple links, but it makes line status indicators too cumbersome. Zabbix should allow a link to contain at least one segment, which should be doable without rebuilding the display engine. It could be accomplished by adding x and y position for midpoint on the link. This would dramatically improve flexibility when using zabbix for system diagrams.
