    Configuring a host for Geomap

    I love the new Geomap feature and have been experimenting with it. I've seen how adding the lat/long to the Host's Inventory screen puts it on the map, and I've written a script to turn a Host's IP into lat/long and populate the Inventory screen via the API. It works well, and as long as I have it running in crontab it picks up new Hosts.

    My questions are:
    1. Is this method of populating the lat/long fields with external scripts the best way, or is there an automated system within Zabbix. There are fields that could be used in Zabbix for this, but I don't know how to access them.
    2. Are there plans to expand the Geomap, perhaps my adding automated lines to signify WAN connectivity, etc. This would make for a wonderful Dashboard.

    TIA,

    Dave

    Would you be able to share the script that you're using as I would also like to do something like this?

      I set 50 hosts than runs inside a train with latitude and longitude that host get by SNMP query.

      Things I did

      - In template set populate inventory item but dont put "unit" in item
      - In host -> inventory -> automatic
      - Geomap -> set group (if you want only that group).
