It's hard to read the screen on bright monitors

    Hello everybody,

In my opinion, the new GUI has some difficulties to read words because of missing color contrasts.
Older versions had more color and skins and it was more easy to read.

I have a Lenovo Yoga2 laptop with Win8 and it's quite difficult to read with the white skin or even black skin.

    Regards

    Mehmet

Any specific screens? Is it a general concern about choice of colors for the white theme?

      Dear Alexei,

My observation is mostly about the dashboard screen. I'm trying to display the dashboard in a big screen on the Wall. It is almost impossible to read 'the last 20 issues' tables. The background and the character colors are too similar to each other. To be able to read from distance, there must be a contrast between the background and foreground. My suggestion is using the current background colors but for foreground (words) using the White or black. So we can establish a contrast.

There is no color palette choice for seeking contrasted skins. Even with dark skin.

IMO the classic and light blue skins were awesome for big screens. I'm missing them

      Regards.

Could you post a screenshot? Because in the light theme all fonts are in fact black on a white background and in the dark one they are white on a black background.
Also, are you using a projector to beam the picture to the wall? Or is it a monitor screen?

Could you please specify what exactly is unreadable on this screenshot?

              Hello Pavel.

Imagine that you send this screen to a projector and trying to read the last 20 issues tables from distance. Maybe you should try and see for yourself.

Just I cant read. It's same for the light them, cause the colors are not changing depending on theme.

In my opinion the light brown and orange backgrounds are ok. But the words color (I guess its dark brown) makes it harder to read. One of them (the bg or fg) must be changed to contrast colors. For example black or for darker backgrounds, white.

I have a laptop, a pc and a Mac. I tried to feed the projector from all of them. My projector is fine, almost brand new. So I dont think it because of the projector.

But lets think the worse. With a mid-level, older projector its almost impossible.

I believe we should have flexibility to tune the skins.

              regards.

Thanks! Yes, I instantly thought about the projector because it's a tricky one to deal with. We'll think how to better address this issue BTW, you can still change every single color if you like, these are in SASS variables, shouldn't be very complicated.

                  Orange sheme

Alexei, while excessive usage of white (blue) and grey(dark) in version 3 is OK for dashboard, but all these stuff look EXTREMELY poor on screens (btw, whose that terrible idea to include Screens on Monitor section was?!).

While default Blue and Green colors look OK for white screens, the dark is just really terrible, sorry. And the missing intent for item names, that's under the graph, is just missed opportunity to unify a whole graph's section in screen view.

BTW, in general, whole navigation is more "heaver".There is a strong, too many clicks, feeling now involved in overall management.

RE: Pavel's issue. I think the whole problem is the font/it's style used for dashboard and in general. Indeed, hard to read (thin/narrow).

                  P.S.
I want the orange theme back

                    Update

I've just realized, that grid is missing and that's probably why it's so "empty" in Screen section.

Could you kindly tell where those SASS variables are? Is there a way to copy skins from zabbix 2.4 (there were choice of 4). Thank you in advance.
