Monitoring E1 connection

Hi All,
Was trying to see how could Zabbix be used to monitor the BTU (HUAWEI BTS 360) , it does not have IP.
Any idea how could we use Zabbix for monitoring BTS unit which do not have IP

Sorry I should have mentioned earlier what to monitor, I want only now to monitor the status of the BTS, whether it is up or down.
This BTS from Hawauei has its own monitoring system known as i2000, and the customer is getting results from there. What I want to do is to show a demo that it is possible for getting information from BTS unit using Zabbix, even a simple status monitoring for the links will suffice and this level.
The Zabbix project is for demo purpose, I want to show that monitoring of BTS Is possible by Zabbix
