You will need an OS equivalent to RHEL 8. Given where Centos has gone, you really need to decide on which distro you are going to use in the future. Here's an outline of an option: (Assuming MySQL is on your server)

Pre-work: Upgrade your Mariadb to current 5.7 and do mysql upgrade, mysql says it doesn't support 5.6 to 8.0 upgrade.
    1. Build a new server with Rocky Linux, MySQL (or Pecona) 8.x.
    2. Copy your database (I use rsync on a cold DB, entire /var/lib/mysql structure) and do the mysql upgrade
    3. Install the Zabbix 6 packages
    4. Zabbix will update it's database at first startup.
If it doesn't work, you still have the old, untouched server.
