net.dns.record checks are unable to look up AAAA records… it's probably about time we added support for them, eh?

I completely agree (also for net.dns)
Besides that also an ipv6 address as nameserver is also not supported. I suggest to fix that to.
You can work aroud that with the ANY record type. I use that with net.dns to check if resolving is working -
