Why do both the hostnames and visible names need to be unique? Are both used as identifiers in different functionalities or something?
I would expect that the hostname needs to be unique, but the visible name can be anything.
We have a zabbix setup with different environments that sometimes contain the same hostnames, so we're unable to add these hosts without giving them a different name, which is a bit annoying.
Is there a specific reason to have it this way, or are there plans to change this in the future?
