I can’t believe Zabbix cannot do this, but there should be a feature built into the zabbix agent to allow use of icmpping from the agent via a template config.
It’s bonkers I cannot assign a template to all my zabbix agent machines and have them ping a DNS name or an IP adress and return the same info as the built-in PING template - so we can graph uptime and latency of the remote DNS name/IP seen from the zabbix agents point of view.
