Linux OL9.3 smbd.service and zabbix widget status update problem
Hello!
I would like to ask for your help with a logic problem.
I have a Zabbix 6.4.11 server and a Zabbix Agent 2 v6.4.11
The host being monitored is Oracle Linux 9.3
The template I use is a Linux by Zabbix agent active and plus a Linux systemd by Zabbix agent 2
I use the Linux by Zabbix agent active template from the official repository.
I downloaded and imported the Linux systemd by Zabbix agent 2 template from this site: https://www.zabbix.com/integrations/systemd
I use the host with DNS name and 10051/TCP port and used PSK key authentication.
In a nutshell my problem is as follows:
1. i have a Linux service (smbd.service), but it is not updated in the widget when i shut down the server (I know, I know! The agent does not send data to the zabbix server)
2. I checked the host in Monitoring->Latest data by selecting and filtering smbd.service and I see that the status is not updating and is stuck at the last status.
3. There is a section in the template called Value Map and I added an extra value and what you can see in the picture. It would be nice if the new value would be displayed in the widge, but it is not happening.
I have tried using Zabbix API and zabbix_sender scripts, but both did not provide a solution.
Is it at all possible that if the remote server goes down (for whatever reason), the host in Latest data still adds item value? It could be empty for this value. The point is just not to get stuck on a latest state.
