Option to preserve item descriptions when updating hard-linkedtemplate

Hard-linked templates are IMHO one of the best features ever introduced to zabbix. But there could be an option to preserve item descriptions, selectable maybe on a per-template basis.
For example, I prefer to describe ports on my switches with the name of the connected device and not by interface number. And on many devices snmp_if_no. != real_if_no. If I had this customized already, I wouldn't want it to be set to a default again, when the template would be updated.

We have many cisco devices to monitor and all ports has another description. Could be usefull.
