Out of box templates curiosity

Hi,
I have noticed version 6 does not have nested templates anymore, as it was in version 5.
I would like to know if this was a planned decision and where I can find more information about this approach.

Understood... I cannot pinpoint it right now... There are some reasons, why it may be good, mentioned here https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBXNEXT-8087 (which is about removing nesting at all, they did it in 6.4rc1, but removed it in 6.4rc2).
But simplification of OOB templates seems to be main reason for now...

I think oob templates were just rebuilt like that to reduce complexity.. but you can still link templates to each other...

yes, I have same opinion and I know what I can do. I just would like to understand better about this decision : for instance, is this change listed at release notes ? which one ?
Or it was a decision to reduce "Templator" tool complexity work ?
I am working on an upgrade, from 5 to 6, and my option was to use a clean install, which means I am inputting all hosts , reviewing templates, etc. I notice this change and I would like more information, thats all.

Hi Cyber,
that was exactly what I was looking for!
That topic was a great discussion: I prefer nested approach, but my environment is not big and I am working with zabbix about last 3years, I have a lot to learn about api e advanced stuff, for instance.
But I could feel some pains like template interchanging : the thing about id value must be fixed/addressed as soon as possible.
