    better logging

I have still issues with better searching for errors. I am offten searching why there is some problem. But it is really hard to find something usefull in debug logs. Log level warning shows too small things and debug is doing huge amount of data and still rotating.

First, does syslog works for you on linux? For me, never. Maybe I am doing something wrong but only logfile is working for me. Does somebody has syslog.conf and zabbix_agentd.conf working? If so, problem is resolved, I can manage log levels in syslog.

And I think rotating of logs should be configurable and there should be possibility to turn it off. Because I want to rotate my logs using logrotate. Not problem if log has 100megas but I will find what I need.

    Thanx s lot,
    Lukas

    how to find problem

Just now it is time to show practical reason why to consolidate log..

    - I made trigger with icmpping=0
    - Made action as remote command if trigger is on on one host
    - used format hostname:sudo /etc/init.d/racoon restart
    - there is no request in zabbix agent to run this command if trigger is on

Please where to search this ? How to find problem ?

    Thanx.

No, and that is strange. I never saw it working but I did not know if I should see it in actions. OK. If it should be there, so it is not. But trigger was changed, other actions like send email are working.
