    Outage management vs event management

I would like to manage events by "outage", rather than by event. That would collate ON and OFF events together with notes and other info for management reporting and accountability to customers.

I would like to review past outages, with timestamps for ON and OFF, and a place to enter notes, such as cause, scope, effect, resolution and other items that would capture the knowledge created from resolving outages.

A report on this information would completely replace a manual process that I now do to account for outages to customers. It would contain start, stop, duration, and the notes entered for that outage.

    Purty please?

You may already have this information on trigger level by using both trigger comments (may contain problem resolution instructions) and acknowledges. Is it what you want?
