I am using Zabbix version 7.0.3. I don't know if this is the latest version. I am a complete newbie to the system.
Zabbix is installed today using all defaults, using PostgreSQL 16 database, and nginx for the web.
I tried to setup a domain certificate alert for my own use. During the process, I faced following problems which needs verification.
There is a test user (actually named test) and default Admin and guest users in the system.
- If trigger is set for a specific user ("test" in my case). It is not working. It has to be for a group.
- If trigger is set for a group and there is a user without media defined, it fails with error "No media defined for user" (it was administrator account in my case)
- If trigger is set for a group and there is a disabled user in that group without media defined and all other accounts has a correct media defined, it fails with error "No media defined for user" (it was guest account in my case)
I truly wish the user name is included in that error message for easier spotting the problem. I have no idea if this may cause a security problem.
First item in the list should actually be working but it didn't work for me. Problem is listed in Monitoring -> Problems but Action column was empty. Reports -> Acton log was also empty.
I just wanted to share my experience and hopefully someone else can check and confirm.
