Zabbix 3.2 support for Debian 9 Stretch

    Hello,

we currently use Zabbix 2.4.8 in Debian 7 Wheezy.

We plan to rebuild our Deployment due to serveral lessons we learned in the past.
Due to the soon release of Debian 9 Stretch stable ([2017-Feb-05] Full freeze), we thought of skipping Debian 8 Jessie and start directly with Debian 9 Stretch.

On "https://www.zabbix.com/documentation/3.2/manual/installation/install_from_packages/repository_installation" Debian 9 Stretch isn't listed just yet for obious reasons.

Is there an official statement if Debian 9 Stretch will be supported for 3.2 or do we hve to wait for 3.4?

Will there be an official Zabbix repo aka "zabbix-release_3.2-1+stretch_all.deb" ?

    Thank you!

    Hi,

As we can see there is no answer ... maybe it will take some more weeks
I also wait for the repositories for Debian stretch,
At start I work with the book from Thorsten Kramm "Monitoring mit Zabbix" and have compile the newest 3.2 Version
Have a look at this site:

But if you also will compile zabbix, don't forget the option
    --with-openssl
like me. Because Kramm described this option on Site 109 in chapter 10
    Installation is in chapter 4 ;-) :-(
best regards from germany to germany

      Thank you for your answer.
I have no intend to compile from source. We migrated to Debian 8 and are currently on latest Zabbix 3.2.x. It works very well. There is no reason for a rush to Debian 9. It was just a question. I'm sure Zabbix SIA will release Debian Stretch support when they are ready or release 3.6.x.

The agent can be installed on stretch,
you just have to provide the libssl1.0.0 dependency.

        Code:
        wget http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/pool/main/o/openssl/libssl1.0.0_1.0.1t-1+deb8u6_amd64.deb
        dpkg -i *.deb
        apt-get install zabbix-agent
        It just works fine.
But please keep in mind, that the openssl library will not be upgraded automatically, so you will have to keep it updated yourself.

Zabbix 3.4 was released yesterday together with official Debian Repos from Zabbix SIA for Debian 7 / 8 / 9.

For Zabbix 3.2 there is an Feature Request currently being worked on:

Either use the workarround on the previous post, or use the new 3.4 version of zabbix which supports Debian 9 directly.
