    Update your documentation!!

After a few months of playing around off and on, with the settings and configuration of both the server in both package and distro, as well as the agents. I finally have a working Zabbix installation with all of the remote functionality working as well. But only after finding the right combination of events and planetary alignments necessary. It's been ridiculous how much one has to bang their head on the desk to make this work, when it could be done relatively simply if the admins who are creating it and updating it would just...

    UPDATE THEIR FUCKING DOCUMENTATION!!!!

Pardon my french, but for the love of all that's holy, your documentation sucks! It's got holes you could drive a Mack truck through and almost everywhere else the information is not only redundant, its completely useless to boot!

    Hey Jawbone,

Thank you for the post. Are there particular suggestions or examples of what should be improved? Any feedback will be appreciated, so thanks in advance!

    Alex.

        Hey Jawbone

I think I'd agree with you about how frustrating outdated documentation can be. I'm in the situation you must have been in a few months ago, a complete Zabbix newbie. Which is why I'm visiting this forum.

How about you write a simple 'How-To' basics, on getting started and monitoring a few switches and windows server? That's all I'm after. It's not easy to find a concise up-to-date document.
