I'm having some problem with zabbix_agentd on a very busy server.
I still have to investigate deeply on the problem, but sometimes the agent gets killed
I'd like to put zabbix_agentd in inittab, this way it wuold be automatically respawned minimizing the downtime. (I don't like solutions based on periodic check as they can results in false positives)
I think inttab way is a good idea for a small monitoring daemon as zabbix but it doesn't have a command line switch to run in foreground so init would not notice a program crash.
I found an old thread related to daemontools monitoring (quite the same problem) but I didin't understand if that's a planned feature or not.
Do you have any suggestions about that ?
