    It Services And Sla

    Hi to all!

I'm new to this monitoring tools so in my office we have Zabbix 1.1.5 on OpenBSD. Everything ok with the hosts with the templates and so on....
But when I tried to figure out with SLA on the IT service tab, that was difficult.

My question is how can I run SLA with simple check "icmpping", I have create a trigger {hostname:icmpping.last(0)} = 0 so every time a host is unreachable to send me an notification.

I want to connect this trigger with an IT service for having as result the percent of the check host alive.

Can anyone explain to my how this can be done?

I have read the other articles about this but when I try it nothing happens.

I need a step configuration, or a good explanation about this section "IT services".

    Thanks.

    Solution?

    Hi again.

I run some checks yesterday and today the SLA was under 100%.

    The steps are :

    1. I had Create a trigger simple check {hostname:icmpping.last(0)} = 0.
    2. configuration tab --> IT Services.
    3. create a test service sla_parent
    3.1 name SLA_parent.
3.2 status calculation min/max any combination is accepted.
    3.3 show SLA YES.
    3.4 acceptable SLA 60%.
    3.5 link to triger NO.
    3.6 sort order 0 default.

    4. Then I create a second service to be a child service.
    4.1 name ping status hostname.
4.2 status calculation do not calculate.
    4.3 show SLA YES.
    4.4 acceptable SLA 60%.
    4.5 link to triger YES.
    4.6 trigger hostname ping status.
    4.7 short order 0 default.

5.then we have to link the services - link to
    5.1 service 1 sla parent.
5.2 service 2 ping status hostname.
    5.3 soft link YES.

Yesterday nothing seems to happen everythink was 100% ok on the SLA services but on the reportin I had different values.

Today when I open my computer at the office the SLA was 90,13%.

Can anyone tell me how often this sla services is updated?
    maybe the problem is there!

If anyone run it and have some results please contact, I'd like to know!

And if anyone can tell me why I have to wait a hole day for this, is there any parameter for doing SLA report for last hour, last day or last week so i can check this configuration more efficient!

    Thanks.
