    Values on Maps

    I'm just starting to deploy Zabbix, and I'm really impressed so far. However, one thing I'd love to be able to do just doesn't seem possible.

    I can create a map, and put elements on it (great), and can link them (great), and can associate the link with a trigger. However, what I'd like to do is display a value beside an element or a link, such as %CPU usage on the host, and %network usage on the link.

    If this is possible, can someone tell me how to do it. Otherwise, does it sound like something that could be integrated in future?

    Thanks,

    rts

    Sounds like a good idea, this can be implemented at some point in the future.

      Thanks for clarifying. If I get the opportunity, I'll implement it and send you a patch.

      I'd imagined that when you add a connection you'd be able to choose one ITEM value to display, and that it would display it to the left/right/top/bottom/centered of the middle of the line.

      If anyone else has any views on how this should be done, or what features absolutely directly related to this they'd like to see, then please could you post a reply?

        I think the best way of implementing this would be support of macros in icon labels.

          Do you mean you would put something like the following in:

          {myserver.com:system.cpu.load[,avg1].last(0)}

          I've looked at the PHP code, and I can't see a function to parse that without putting it into the database (eg implode_exp). Could you point me at a function that could get the current value of such a macro? Or, if that's not a macro, could you give me an example.

          Thanks,

          Rob
