Items as Macros in Item Description

e.g.

a snmp enabled host with ifInOctets1 as a Item and IfDescr1 as another Item.
It would be great to have something like

IfInOctets{IfDescr1}

as a description of the Items IfInOctets1 so that e.g. all interfaces of a switch have the correct name in Graphs.

maybe this could be implemented in a later release

Same issue

I am having the same issue when trying to develop template for my CISCO Routers and Switches.

I would love to post the completed templates however other users would have to modify some of the items depending on their specific configuration.

Any thoughts on how this can be accomplished?
