My 1.4.2 Update Status

They weren't show stoppers, but the one where the templates don't integrate smoothly without losing data was really annoying. I manually extracted and imported some data from the database after applying templates, but I ended up losing about 80% of my history.

Web Monitoring Tab
Often when I goto the web monitoring tab, I can't see anything. No items show up. I have to go over to latest data, select the host, and then switch back to web monitoring. This was in 1.4.1 and I thought it was so obvious I never reported it. I guess not. Its still in 1.4.2.

Now that I have bitten the bullet (and lost my data) by applying my latest templates across to all hosts, my QPS is up to 250. I need to figure out a way to get that down. Whats are the most expensive functions of zabbix in terms of performance.

Upgrade of templates (1.1x -> 1.4.2) has been fixed! I am not quite sure what kind of problem you have.

I am not aware of the WEB monitoring problem. Please give more details.

Me neither. I'm not sure what the state was exactly before. The basic templates were working okay from what I recall in 1.1.x. Then I went to 1.4.1 and I noticed when I re-linked the templates to hosts, it would delete the item and re-add it and lost all my data so I only did a few hosts. I just applied it to all hosts now that I have 1.4.2, but I have the same results as 1.4.1. I'm not sure what more I can tell you except give you a backup of my database.

FYI, I created this monitoring structure in 1.4.1. I have a host called test-host. It doesn't have any groups or templates. When I click on the web tab, it doesn't have anything under "STATUS OF WEB MONITORING". The default group when clicking the web tab is all, and the group shows "all". The host drop down just shows white (blank). WHen I click on it, there are no hosts to select.

I can get around it by going to the latest data and bringing up the test-host, then switching back to the web tab. Whew ...hopefully that was enough detail.

If I gave you a backup 1.4.1 database, you could probably see both easily. Let me know if you want it.
