    Reasons to switch

    Hi Alex

I browsed thru this site and find next to nothing on reasons to switch my system if any.

So. I've got monitoring system all setup and go. Nagios, BB maybe. doesn't matter. Should I switch to yours? Why?

Just browsing through your site I don't see any reasons to consider switching. Maybe log watching. And I find this only after 5 minutes browsing.

It would be nice (c) to have some article/FAQ dedicated precisely to Why yet another monitoring system? And put it on the home page big caps and all.

    Thanks for reading my rant.

    With best regards
    Mikhryutka

Thanks for your comment. Please check http://www.zabbix.com/features.php for a list of features ZABBIX provides.

We've used Nagios and Big Brother (BB) in the past and dumped them for Zabbix. Zabbix has a nicer mgmt interface to add new items to monitor and is much more flexible. You can graph any SNMP OID and you can also monitor any statistic that you can consistently generate through a script or other means. It also has a very user friendly threshold alerting system and mgmt interface that make it nice.

The next feature we would like to see is access controls for users to login and only be able to view their devices and not all devices.
