    Port 10000 and 10001

One of the first things that caught my attention is that Zabbix wants to use port 10000. I got used to having port 10000 for webmin. Did you register these ports with IANA?

Yes, the process is already started for 10050 and 10051 (ZABBIX v1.1).

By the way, port 10000 is not registered in IANA as Webmin's one!

      Are they hard coded?

Maybe I should go and tell them to reserve that port then. I must admit I never got involved with the Webmin project. I'm simply using their web interface as a convenient way to configure some servers.

Good to know that you are registering other ports. Is it possible to configure the current 1.0 to use them already or are they hard coded? Or is this simply something that needs to be configured in xinetd?

      Cheers,

      Jo

        All ports are configurable.
