I put Zabbix online monitoring production servers this month, and my initial impressions so far are very positive.
The product has so many features, and is so extensible it's easy to feel lost, but after sitting down with it for a while, learning its capabilities, and finding out applicable ways to use it in our environment, it has filled its roll very well.
Documentation could be improved, but that is a minor gripe, as it could be the way I understand things that need improving
I am currently monitoring 50+ Dell servers with this, using the Dell OpenManage template (monitors chassis, RAID, temperature, memory health), as well as service checks, and other items.
Management is quite pleased with it as well, and I suspect we will be buying a support contract soon, as it is much cheaper than the other alternatives.
Other product we use currently is GFI, but it is a cumbersome program, and not reliable.
Keep up the good work, this product has exceeded my expectations, and I have a feeling some great features will make this an even more compelling product down the road!
