I was recently turned on to Zabbix by an co-worker from a previous job. I must say that I love it!
Here is my first suggestion (I'm sure it won't be my last) I monitor several devices that return an on/off open/closed motion/no motion result as 0 or 1 not text. It would be nice to be able to add a 2 state y axis type that graphs the results 0/1 but has user editable fields for the text at the 0 and 1 positions. It could be generalized for any 2 state result, but I would guess 0/1 would be pretty common.
