Since a great deal of getting Zabbix working on various systems involves creation of various items and templates, why not create a new forum section so that experience users with nicely created graphs and templates cans share them with the new users trying to get started?

Did you check out the zabbix wiki area dedicated to templates?

I would like to see a standard or guideline for graphs in templates. For instance when I create a graph for any network interface inbound traffic is always sold green, outbound is always a bold blue line. I know others may use different standards.
I think if we all had a set of guidelines it would make the need for tweaking a graph less likely. I don't think the standard needs to be very specific, but something general like: Inound data/traffic should be a solid color and should be either Green, Yellow or Purple. Outbound data/traffic should be a bold line of either Red, Blue or Black as an example. I know consideration should be made for ease of visualization with consideration for color blindness.

I agree with this, and think there should be some type of best practice guideline to template creation, item naming standards etc. This way more people will want to download user contributed templates, and in turn would encourage them to create and upload their own for use by the community.
I am sure there are many, many user created templates out there, and I know for one that it can take half a day or more to create a decent template with graphs etc for a device like a 24 port switch. I think we need to do whatever it takes to encourage people to share them. This will ultimately increase zabbix uptake and user adoption and make the whole process of getting a production system up and running a lot easier!
BTW I have recently added templates for 1 x cisco 837 router and 1 x cisco 877 router and 1 x cisco 2960 switch to the wiki area.....hope these are of benefit to someone.Comment
