    hiding dependant triggers

in some cases, displayed triggers are redundant - for example, a trigger for host being down 3 minutes could be hidden if trigger that the same host is down for 10 minutes is on.

if this was the only desired mode, it could be a global option, but, obviously, this is required for some triggers (or even only for some dependencies).

so, i'd appreciate any comments on how this could be achieved.

one possibility could be a checkbox for each dependency "this dep hides" (different naming, of course ), which would make that dependancy "hard" - if the target trigger is on, don't show this trigger.
it is possible that also another switch should be added to trigger monitoring page - "show hidden triggers"...

how could this work from ui/technical viewpoint ?

I believe it already works this way, i.e. if a trigger has a dependency in status TRUE, the trigger is not displayed. At least in Status of Triggers screen...

      damn. it indeed does.
it seems that, during my testing, i did not click on 'add', and did not check that dependency is set up later...

      sorry for bothering

        ok, an expansion of this.

if the condition is remedied, both triggers go to FALSE state.
in the example given, this results in two triggers being unhidden, for the same host being unavailable for 3 and 10 minutes.

in this case, it would make sense to show only the one about 10 minutes.

would it make sense in all situations ? how this could be achieved ?

          ...and a bit more.
let's say we have two triggers where one depends on another.
if they both are TRUE, only one shows in trigger list, but "STATUS OF TRIGGERS" page shows two enabled triggers.

this can be a bit confusing (i looked at the page for a while until i understood what was happening).
