Feature Request - per host snmp community

    Hello,

First of all want to compliment you guys on a great tool - imho way better than nagios.

I am monitoring many different networks with zabbix and would like to be able to specify different community names on a per host or per host group basis. Without this it is bit of a liability for me.

Can this be included either in 1.6 or a minor release?

    Thanks,
    Brian

Currently you may use bulk update tool to update SNMP related parameters for hundreds of items by one mouse click.

Yes but then I will loose the ability to have all devices of a particular type assigned to the same template.

If I have 100 Cisco Routers split amongst ten customers, each customer with different snmp community, then I need ten templates, no?

Hmm, you're right it would make more sense if the common SNMP related information were attached to the host not the item. Is it even possible for an SNMP device to reply to two different community names and provide different items to each?

This would be a pretty decent refactoring. If noone else wants it I can add it to my "hack" list but it may be a few weeks.

A few weeks is cool I would be happy to provide testing.

I posted a netscreen template to the wiki will post more / updates as I add devices.

          Thanks,
          Brian
