hosts internals on the map

There is a very nice feature in OpenView that you can open host, and see some internals (like processes, hardware etc.) on the map. I think this could be easy implemented into zabbix.
It requires only that items can be placed on the map.
In this case, we can create map containing only items (like processes, hardware etc), and this map can by linked to host by URL.
Additionally it should be possible to assing different icons or icon-colors to different values of item, so item color can identify unknown/normal/critical/... status.

It's an interesting feature but it opens a can of worms as well: should Zabbix (also) become an hardware inventory system? Eventually a trouble-ticket management system? (as the logic goes, after being able to see a server's specs, I might want to see its ticket history).

A strength of open source is modularity where small, nimble packages that do a couple of things well tend to be a lot more successful than bloated packages that try to do everything.

What would be great is an integration feature with existing inventory and/or ticket-tracking systems.

A relatively new package that shows a lot of promise (and is actually quite usable today) is Asset Tracker (http://atwiki.chaka.net/) which adds inventory-tracking (meh!) functionnality to, IMHO, the Greatest Ticket-tracking Software Ever, Request Tracker (http://www.bestpractical.com/).

No need to reinvent the wheel here, maybe in Zabbix 1.2 or 2.0 there could be an option to integrate with RT and AT. For example, we could have Triggers that create trouble tickets directly.

What you are talking makes sense. But i suggested something simple:
Just to allow icons for items.
I'm monitoring complex servers, where there is a lot of process inside. I'd like to see, just by one click, at least which processes are running properly.
