Coroporate use references

Hi all,

I work as a IT specialist in PKI department of a financial institution in Croatia. We have evaluated Zabbix on our test environment and it proved dependable. Now we would like to propose it as a monitoring solution for our production systems.

I looked around www.zabbix.com site for references of it's use in renowed companies but without success. Some I have found on www.zabbix.nl but I do not understand Dutch language.

I guess there are many companies using Zabbix that didn't disclose the fact so the exact list of references would be nearly impossible to obtain. I'm interested in experinece from companies in industry branches like aerospace, telcos, health, finance, ... If there are users from such companies, please could you share your experience regarding deployment of Zabbix in your environment.

I can't speak for anyone except me and my experiance.
I work in a company that does stock analysis and real-time trading. We began using Zabbix as simple way to monitor basic health on the PC's (free disk space, processor load, ect). Now we run nearly everything through it.

We pulled apart the zabbix_sender code and recoded the basics so that we have a "zabbix_sender" function in C, C#, Java, and a couple of others. When we write code, instead of writing to a log file we just send the information to the Zabbix server with trappers. We have keyword defined alerts so we know updates from alerts from errors and we won't get emails on anything but errors.

We use several proprietary programs that output data in a variety of ways. We have had to get a bit creative at times but we have always managed to get the output into Zabbix and we let Zabbix monitor and filter for us.

I can't tell you how much easier my job is with Zabbix. I am very happy with it. I have only a few things I would like to see happen with Zabbix and I believe they are almost all addressed in 1.6 (which if all goes well I will be running the 1.5 beta on the test system next week *crosses fingers*).
