    Zabbix proxy on windows

    Hi,

    Maybe I missed something, but is there a plan of zabbix proxy on windows. I love the idea of zabbix proxy, but if it wont be available on windows we will get no use of it .

    We mainly monitor servers with windows and install openvpn clients on each server (this is not very good), but if the proxy will be available on windows we could only install openvpn on one machine.

    Thank you for answer.

    The Proxy won't be available for Windows platforms in 1.6.

        Does the proxy need a database? maybe compile it using cygwin?

          Yes, it does. I believe it can also be compiled under Cygwin, yet I wouldn't consider it as a good solution.

            it would really be nice to have the proxy working with windows. IMHO there are many windows only sites where the proxy would fit in.

            so i tried to compile with cygwin.

            ./configure --enable-proxy --with-sqlite3 && make.

            there are some warnings with configure about winsock2.h, psapi.h, Winldap.h, Winber.h, ws2tcpip.h but it completes .

            After that, make stops early. see also the logs in the attachment, maybe there are some cygwin specilaists?

                  Currently we have no plans to have native support of proxies under Windows. If are interested in supporting this functionality please contact us.
