trigger for "no new data" event

Hi all

Does zabbix have possibility to create trigger which will be used to detect new data getting? I gave snmp items and would like to detect if snmp request was failed.

I do try to create something like this
{Template_App_JBoss:jbossUptime.abschange(0)}<1
but it detects when service has been restarted, but not if down.
