Discovery : ip range (class B)

Do I really have to add a 1-255 range for every third octet ?

I am trying to create autodiscovery rules for a class B subnet and don't seem to be able to define a short text version of the range. Is this expected ?

Also, how would this be possible without having to change the VarChar(255) structure of the "conditions" and "drules" tables to 8160 ??

I don't really want to have to change the schema and then add a 8000+ character line to the auto-discover config and associated action setup

So in the end I created 26 Discovery rules, each with 10 ranges (except the 26th rule with has 6 ranges), this actually improves the performance and becuase you have a seperate discovery poller for each rule, so hosts get detected quicker.

I could do the same for the discovery "action" too, but in the end I just updated the varchar size to accomodate the full class B range. Does that sound ok ?

It seems not to work if you need to use a full class B range in the "actions" config for discovery.
I have now put the varchar 255 structure back and removed the ip range condition which seems to fix the problem. IT's not ideal but at least I can filter my hosts by received response. I would ideally like to filter them by subnet also, but that's maybe not possible with this version of Zabbix (1.4.5 Debian Etch)
