Multiline textfields in zabbix

it seems like zabbix only uses the first line of a multiline text item. for comparision, for mailing (action, makro {ITEM.LASTVALUE} etc. is this a bug or desired behavior?

using char gives me the desired multiline behavior , but limited to 255 characters

Hmm, I was talking about the latest 1.4.6. As far as I remember it was implemented in 1.6 and back-ported to 1.4.x.

Using ZABBIX Server (daemon) v1.6.2 (16 January 2009), and still only the first line is used when including {ITEM.LASTVALUE} in a action message for email, where item has type TEXT.

Anyone any idea how to solve this ?

Upgraded to 1.6.4, still the same problem
only the first line of the message is in the alert email

Is something known about this bug that should be solved already ?
A solution would be really great :-)

The issue with truncated text data was fixed in pre-1.6.5. Thanks for discussing it.

I've the same problem with 1.6.4.

You could just grab the pre-1.6.5 source and compile the server part, then install ...and it works.
