    No data from TEMPLATE_APP_MYSQL

    SOLVED: answer on last replys

    Zabbix Server: 1.4.6
    DB: MySQL
    Testing: Template_APP_MYSQL
    Problem: graphs with Template_App_MySQL doesn't show data.

    i come back to Zabbix after few months without time to test it. i started new insallation from last stable. i can collect a lot of data but i have doubts with mysql. i think i followed correctly all steps from documentation. My test is one machine with Zabbix Server, and another machine with MySQL Server and zabbix_agentd to collect MySQL data. I uncommented next values on agentd on MySQL server machine and if i execute it i can see correct values:

    Code:
    UserParameter=mysql.ping,mysqladmin -uroot -pmipass  ping|grep alive|wc -l
    UserParameter=mysql.uptime,mysqladmin -uroot -pmipass status|cut -f2 -d":"|
    UserParameter=mysql.threads,mysqladmin -uroot -pmipass status|cut -f3 -d":"
    UserParameter=mysql.questions,mysqladmin -uroot -pmipass status|cut -f4 -d"
    UserParameter=mysql.slowqueries,mysqladmin -uroot -pmipass status|cut -f5 -
    UserParameter=mysql.qps,mysqladmin -uroot -pmipass status|cut -f9 -d":"
    UserParameter=mysql.version,mysql -V
    mysqladmin returns me correct data but graphs on zabbix web are empty. Other common graphs returns data but no mysql. I try to test mysql.ping on MySQL server to monitor with zabbix agentd and works well:

    Testing ping&more

    Code:
    # /usr/local/zabbix/bin/zabbix_agentd -t mysql.ping
    mysql.ping                                    [t|1]
    # /usr/local/zabbix/bin/zabbix_agentd -t mysql.uptime
    mysql.uptime                                  [t| 15968  ]
     /usr/local/zabbix/bin/zabbix_agentd -t mysql.threads
    mysql.threads                                 [t| 3  ]
    Lins readed

    Can I do another test to know what happen?

    Thanks

    Silly question, but on your 2nd host, you did link it with this template, right? And "Activate" the items in the host (not the template)? See an attached subsection of my Items display with these activated.

    Also, when you view your host under items, are these entries Active? I had a number of sync'ing problems, getting the remote host sending the data, and getting the Zabbix server configured to receive them. Often, I would have to keep refreshing the Items page, looking for items which had "Not Supported" status, fixing the UserAgent, and clicking on "Not Supported" to activate it again. (then, refresh to insure that the items stay "Activated").

        Doubt

        Well, Im going to try to explain as best i can

        As i explained on my first post, i have a zabbix server and zabbix agentd to monitoring mysql bd

        zabbix server: IP1
        zabbix agentd: IP2 ( BD MySQL)
        *IPn are reall ips is only a way to describe more easy

        I add new host(IP2) and i link with Template_APP_MySQL (not Linux_Template) without trouble:

        Code:
        Host2 - IP2 - 10050 -Template_App_MySQL - Monitored - Available

        Then, if i understand you well, i need to activate these items on host. So we need to go Items -> select properly Host -> check items of Template_APP_MySQL

        Bad news for me because i see "not suppported" and "not suppported by Zabbix Agentd". If i select all and try to active, the status changes but if i reload item page, "not supported" status appears again.

        So you were right, i think. I have a little problem :/

        Any ideas? Did I something bad when i compiled agentd on second host??

        Thanks!!!

        PD: attached image is of Second Host (IP2) where is Bd mysql and zabbix agentd

        Clue: on second host i compiled manually agentd on this way

        Code:
        ./configure --enable-static --prefix=/usr/local/lib --enabe-agent

          I did this over a year ago, so I may not be remembering correctly. However, notice how your items are mysql[ping] and mine are mysql.ping? Edit your template, and change mysql[ping] to mysql.ping. Don't change them all, because if I'm wrong, this won't work.

          After doing this, I always restart the agent (to send a fresh set of data).

          Also, make sure you check both your server and agent logs for obvious errors.

            Mike has the correct answer to your issue as shown above. I also had to remove the brackets from around [ping] and just place a period between them.

            If you see [no data] on a graph as you show in your previous post and the item shows as "not supported", that means something in your key is incorrect.

              Thanks, I'll try your solutions and comment it after.
