    Zabbix Server Performance - Apache and MySQL high load

    Hi everyone,

    I am having performance problems with Zabbix Server 1.4.5.

    My enviroment:

    Server: Pentium IV, 1GB Ram
    SO: FreeBSD 7.0
    MySQL: 5.0.67
    Apache: 2.2.9
    Hosts Monitored: 55
    Itens Monitored: 6042
    Triggers Enabled: 1786

    The problem:

    The CPU load of MySQL and Apache process is always high:

    Acessing "Latest Data":
    45.65% mysqld
    21.53% httpd
    =========
    Acessing "Overview":

    13.04% mysqld
    38.72% httpd
    11.19% httpd
    =========
    And here the server load:

    load averages: 1.96, 1.13, 0.98

    Some data about MySQL:

    Uptime: 5046 Threads: 23 Questions: 878640 Slow queries: 0 Opens: 103 Flush tables: 1 Open tables: 97 Queries per second avg: 174.126

    I readed the threads about performance and I did some tunning in MySQL (switched to InnoDB) but it didn“t solve the problem at all.

    Any tips about it? There is something that I can do or it is "normal"?

    Thanks!

    Sounds like a lot anyway for that box. I have 2x Opteron and 4gb RAM and the system is quite busy.

    Number of hosts (monitored/not monitored/templates/deleted) 113 77 / 9 / 27 / 0
    Number of items (monitored/disabled/not supported)[trapper] 5083 1881 / 2903 / 299 [55]
    Number of triggers (enabled/disabled)[true/unknown/false] 871

      Have you considered upgrading your RAM?

      I'm not all that familiar with BSD, but is the system swapping at all?

      Also have you run the MySQL tuning primer scrtipt? This is a great place to start your tuning efforts.

      I had a similar problem once and throwing more RAM and key buffers at it is what solved my problem.

        mysql tuning

        Hey! This script *ROCKS*! This should be strongly recommended to be run periodically on any Zabbix installation!
