agent on same machine as server cannot connect

I just upgraded to zabbix 1.6 on my "RHEL 4" system.

everything seems to have gone smoothly for the upgrade except one item, the zabbix server refuses to be able to monitor any agents that I upgrade to 1.6 (ie.. the server itself)

I can not even get zabbix_get to fetch values from the locally running agent, but I can use zabbix_get to fetch values from other system on the network without issues (currently all running the 1.4 agent)

Any clue as to what is causing this? or where to go for debugging this issue?

I found some debugging information by upgrading another system to 1.6 agent. it continues to claim that the connection was rejected and stating the allowable server is (my zabbix server hostname).

Even if I set it to an IP on the zabbix-agentd.conf it still refuses the conection.

27059:20080923:173409 Listener error: Connection from [::ffff:192.168.0.3] rejected. Allowed server is [192.168.0.3]


It looks like it's not handling IPV6 to IPV4 correctly.

Guess I'll recompile with IPv6 disabled and see if it works

Why?! Just specify Server=::ffff:192.168.0.3
