use of dynamic graphs from templates

I wanted to use graphs in my screens dynamically, so I imported them and then copied them to my template. In this case, this is a template I have created for my Solaris servers, so I have copied the graphs to it.

Now, when I create a screen to put the graphs on, I select my Solaris template but it shows that no graphs are defined (first screenshot). However, when I go look at the Solaris template itself (second screenshot), the graphs are obviously there.

Is there a reason behind this not working the way I am trying to do it?

It makes no sense to add graphs from a template. Templates do not have any historical data, thus the graphs (even if displayed) will always be empty.
