Email notifications no longer working after upgrade from 1.4.4 to 1.6

Upgraded from 1.4.4 to 1.6 last night. Replaced the binaries and php files. The database update ran without any errors.

The only problem we have is that Zabbix no longer sends email notifications for triggers. Mail server is running on the zabbix server. No problems sending email using 'mail -s 'subject' [email protected]' from console.

The Email Media Type is configured as follows:

SMTP Server: 127.0.0.1
SMTP helo: localhost
SMTP Email: [email protected]


Any ideas why Zabbix no longer sends out email notifications. We made no changes to the user accounts or actions.

Same here, re-installed OS (suse10.1 to ubuntuserver 8.04), installed zabbix 1.6 (coming from 1.4.2), upgraded MySQL db, patched db to 1.6.
Seems to work fine, but no mails on actions.

Mail (eimx4) works fine.

Check the email settings under Config->Actions->Email Alert.

I had the same problem and it was because some of these values had changed, and the mailer was denying relaying.
