    disable proxied-hosts monitoring

When using the controls in configuration/proxy view for deactivate monitoring this does not update hosts monitoring status.

    Message is:

    * Updated status of host *****
    * Updated status of host *****
    * Updated status of host *****
    * Updated status of host *****

    But no updates at all.

    ...some more proxy stuff

Proxy does not get notified when deactivating hosts at all until I restart proxy process.
Mass update also does not work.

I can test this behaviour when deactivate monitoring for host and then shut agent daemon down.

    Error message in proxy:

1103:20081002:190431 Get value from agent failed. Error: ZBX_TCP_READ() failed [Connection reset by peer]
1104:20081002:190431 Get value from agent failed. Error: ZBX_TCP_READ() failed [Connection reset by peer]
1103:20081002:190431 Host [******]: first network error, wait for 15 seconds
1103:20081002:190431 Parameter [net.if.in[lo,bytes]] will be checked after 20 seconds on host [********]

Proxies do not update configuration immediately. By default, the configuration is synchronized every 5 or 10 minutes.

There is a problem with updating existing info for proxies tho, haven't tried 'status' yet.

        (stock zabbix-1.6 proxy with sqlite)
When i update a item key, i need to remove the sqlite database and start the proxy again. It will not update the item key.

is there some configuration for adjust that. it is neccessary when updating / maintaining clients to deactivate monitoring immidiately and not always can wait 5-10 minutes.

We experienced the same: the default setting is 3600 = 1 hour !
Try changing the value of ConfigFrequency in the zabbix_proxy.conf
file to a more reasonable one for testing.

In a production environment, we think, setting this to half a day would be
sufficient. Others might want to keep the default of 1 hour.

            HTH,

            Norbert.

                I now issued another problem.
When I disable monitoring of an host which uses active checks these checks runs until i reload the proxy.
