regarding mail

I am wondering if Zabbix uses sendmail, mailx or mail command to send alert msgs from Unix server.

Please let me know, if anybody has any idea.

ZABBIX doesn't use any external programs for sending email notifications.

But then how to find why mails are not going to external email id. do i have to configure something on the servers to send mails if trigger is on or off..???
