zabbix 1.6 ignores web monitoring

Hello:
I have configured an scenario with only one step to be monitorized and zabbix doesn't do anything.
I tried also to monitor the example of zabbix server that is in manual of v1.6.
I have neither data in front-end nor errors in log file.
Dates in front-end show 01.Jan.01 000000.
It's like I need to activate something but I don't know what.

I think that was the same in version 1.4.4.
I have never been able of monitor any URL with zabbix.

I have version 1.6 on SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 10.

Did you compile Zabbix_Server with the lib-curl option when you ran config before compilation?

without libcurl

No, I have compiled with next options:

./configure --enable-agent --enable-server --with-mysql

It's needed to compile with libcurl to use web monitoring?

Fixed after installing libcurl, thank's!

I answer my self:

--with-libcurl is enabled by default, but I had not installed so this was the reason because web monitoring didn't work.

After installing libcurl web monitoring is working properly.
