    Gui Issues

I am a noob when it comes to zabbix so please bare with me. I recently downloaded the 1.6 src file and compiled it to use with Fedora 9. When I go to open the gui via browser i get a error. I dont have the screen in front of me but if i remember correctly it was error 316 etc/zabbix/db... It seems to be something php related if i am mistaken and any information that can be provided on these errors would be appreciated.

It would be more useful for all of us if you were to post a copy of the exact error message.
Also, look in your various logs for clues.
Try searching the forum for the exact error message, or even googling.
I just googled "error 316" and got 1530 results ( +zabbix gives 1 result / +php gives 211 results / and +mysql gives 20 results ), the answer to your problem could already be out there.

Please don't be vague. Be more specific.

    Just trying to help!

Pardon me for my vague question. The exact error message I'm getting is this "Undefined index: TYPE[/etc/zabbix/db.inc.php:613]" I have searched google, the forums for this specific error and derivatives that could be related to it all finding very little if anything to do with the current issue.

I recently recompiled the most recent 1.6 src to use with fedora9, have no errors in the log and still the same web interface error # Undefined index: TYPE[/etc/zabbix/db.inc.php:613]

I think this is not a blocking error.
I mean, zabbix GUI needs a configuration file (../conf/zabbix.conf.php) to connect to the DB, but it is not present until u completed the conf of the GUI.

So follow the manual part about configuring the interface (entering DB parameter, checking pre requisites,...) and when finished, u won't see the error message anymore.
