We are monitoring a system using ~500 hosts and ~8500 items with one agent and one server. In "Administration->Queue" I am seeing that items from "Zabbix agent" are delayed up to 5 minutes. What is the best way to increase the throughput? Setting up a second agent or a second server?

I tried to setup a second node. If I got it right, a second node must have its own database. Is a second PHP frontend also necessary? Could it be used to reduce the load on the master node? -
I would imagine the answer would be found by looking for the bottleneck. Is the system not capable of handling more data? If the system has resources, it might be something as easy as configuring more Zabbix pollers on the server.Comment
