When in time does update interval (in sec) starts?

Does any one know when in time the update interval (in sec) starts?

Say that you need to run an external check (Item) once per minute, does the check run Every minute like 12:05:00, 12:06:00

Or is the time “seconds” defined when you hit enter like
12:05:35, 12:06:35 ??

ZABBIX can't ensure that a check would be exactly at any N seconds as you defined. It tries to do so, but depends on the load of the server and outstanding checks in the queue. If you define 60s, then a check can be done after 57s or 63s for example. Keep this in mind when defining the triggers, especially when using dependencies.
