Zabbix sends 'Recovery Message' I didn't order

    Hello all,

    Have Zabbix 1.6.1

I'm using a default trigger, which notifies me when server's uptime is less than 10 mins(so it's been restarted basically).

And an action(see pic) to notify me by email about that

As you can see, Recovery Message is unticked. Despite that, I receive 2 messages per event: The first just after restart(Status changes to ON), and the second after 10mins time(Trigger's status changes to OFF, so Recovery)

    Emn, any reason why?

I also has different Action configured with no Recovery message, that acts just the same.

It looks like wrong configuration. I would add Trigger value=Problem to make the action work as expected.

Where doe sthat go on the act screen?

If I understand it correctly, the "recovery message" option is for configuring a separate template for recovery messages - not for turning recoveries on or off.

                response to duplicate notification

Yes the sample you gave worked exactly right - sorry for my ignorance. The issue I have is that "this seems to come out of thin air'.

I have found the product very powerful and generally easy to use and learn. Forum has been very helpful.

But the description of escalation and recovery check boxes leaves me unsatisfied. Yes I got rid of the duplicate messages but I don't think I learned anything about this notification process in general and there are a group of comments saying people turned on escalation and got 1000s of msgs I didn't want. In my ignorance am I going to walk into the same situation? Can some one provide a good reasonable detailed discussion of how these fit together and what they are suppose to do? Maybe there is an addition to the manual that will cover this ?

This is not a complaint I want to be good at this tool and have a full understanding of a powerful function within it. I ask because I know this tool adds value.
